Call for Workshops

We invite half-day and full-day workshops that bring together researchers, practitioners, and students to discuss emerging themes in Intelligent Human–Computer Interaction.

Overview

IHCI workshops provide an interactive forum for focused discussions, hands-on prototyping, tutorials, or community building on cutting-edge HCI and AI topics. We especially encourage interdisciplinary workshops that connect academia and industry.

Accessibility & Inclusion. Organizers should plan inclusive activities (e.g., accessible materials, hybrid participation options where feasible).

Organizing Team

Workshops should have 2–4 organizers from diverse institutions. Include brief bios highlighting relevant experience. Student co-organizers are welcome.

  • Roles: Lead, Program Chair (review), Publicity, Logistics
  • Suggested PC: 5–8 experts to review submissions (if applicable)

Proposal Guidelines

Please prepare a 3–5 page PDF covering the following:

  • Title and preferred duration (half/full-day)
  • Abstract (150–250 words) and scope
  • Objectives and expected outcomes
  • Target audience and estimated size
  • Organizers (names, affiliations, emails, short bios)
  • Tentative program (talks, panels, activities)
  • Submission/selection plan (if soliciting papers)
  • Publicity and community engagement plan
  • Logistics needs (AV, poster boards, breakouts)

Review Criteria

  • Relevance to IHCI and timeliness of the topic
  • Clarity of objectives and structure
  • Diversity and expertise of organizing team
  • Potential to attract and engage attendees
  • Plan for post-workshop outcomes (proceedings, report, dataset, collaboration)

Important Dates

  • Proposal submission deadline: Aug 10, 2025 (AoE)
  • Notification: Aug 30, 2025
  • Camera-ready/workshop page: Sept 20, 2025
  • Workshop day(s): During IHCI 2025 (Nov 14–16, 2025)

Format & Outputs

Workshops may accept abstracts/position papers and curate a program of talks, demos, and group activities. Organizers are encouraged to produce a post-event summary or shared resource (e.g., Open Science materials, community roadmap).

Email your proposal (single PDF, 3–5 pages) with the subject “IHCI 2025 Workshop Proposal – [Title]”.
